History

The School is situated at Thengamam of  Pallickal village, Adoor Taluk,  the south –west  border of  Pathanamthitta district, with Alappuzha District in the North and Kollam District in the South with a mere distance of 1 km and 500 meters respectively. The School occupies  3.5 acres of land, donated to the Government of Kerala by the Thottuva Bharanicavu Devi Temple, which is at the western side  of the School, on the banks of Kannampallil Thode, a tributary of the Pallickal river. The school was established in 1974, materialising the long-cherished dream of the local people due to the active interference of the then MLA Sri.Thengamam Balakrishnan. Sri. Madhava Kurup was the first Headmaster of the School.  The students from the districts of  Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Kollam look upto  this school as their only refuge for learning.

The Higher Secondary Course started in the School during the year 2004-2005 with Science and Commerce streams. Now four batches are functioning with 240 students in the Higher Secondary Section  and 500 students in the High School section. There are 15 teachers  in the  Higher Secondary section and 17 in the High School section. The admission to the Higher Secondary would be completed with the second allotment itself, as the school has a good reputation.

Higher Secondary Section of the School holds good academic records from the very beginning itself. The average result of the HSS wing comes to around 90% for the last five years. Most of the students who have completed the Higher Secondary Course from  this school  get admissions to any course they aspire. The Units of National Service Scheme, Career Guidance and Counselling, Human Rights Education Club etc are functioning effectively in this School. The NSS unit here is the best in  Pathanamthitta district.

The Principal of the School at present is Sri. Ashraf.M  and the Head Mistress is   Smt. Jameela Beevi.F. The High School and Higher Secondary sections are working hand in hand, in high co-operation, considering the School as a single unit.
